Things about mase...

Puffy had stumbled upon Mase earlier in the year of 1997,at the Gavin Music Seminar in Atlanta.
The Rapper,who was then working under the handle Mase Murder,had trekked down to georgia from the Big Apple with some friends. His plan was to hunt
down Jermaine Dupri,coner the producer,and lay some rhymes on him. And at a party Dupri was thorwing at the Hard Rock Cafe,Mase got a chance
to show off his stuff. Puffy asked Da Brat to take a breather during her set and let the unknown upstart try to set the party. After hearing Mase on the mic,the BadBoy CEO advised him
to visit their offices as soon as he returned to
New York. Suddenly the undiscovered talent was hot
property. By the time he returned to New York
everybody knew he was about to join BadBoy.
Offers for two and three times what Puffy
offered him rolled in,but in his heart,Mase knew
there was only one choice. Puffy and Mase had much in common. The young rapper had been born
Mason Durrell Betha in Jacksonville,Flordia.
Like Sean Combs and Chistopher Wallace,he had been raised by his single mother. His mom was
employed by a public-housing agency. Mase had never met his biological father also he his twin sister by the name of Stasson Betha. His family migrated to New York when he was five years of age. He'd grown up in Harlem:139th street and Lenox Avenue,to be exact. And just like his BadBoy
mentor,Mase felt the neighorhood had been an essential infulence on his style .
"Until I started playing basketball,and then later rapping ,the streets of Harlem was the only world I knew",Mase told request years later.
The New York kids made fun of Mase's lackadaisical drawl. They would tell Mase that he sounded mentally retarted when he spoke.
"But as I got older the females would say my voice was sexy," he recounted in the source.
Mase injoyed school,and rarely staryed from his studies. Mase had been the first person from his block to attend college. He started off rapping while he still was attending high school
at the Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics. After Graduation,he attended the State Unisversity of New York on a athletic scholarship,he had dreams on being in the NBA.

About Mase new record label: All Out
|
Mase has a new label on So So Def,called all out records. The first group on the new label is
Harlem World and there album is do this month of
Jan 99,some of the artist in that group includes his twin sister:Baby Stase,Blinky-Blink,Cardan,
Meeno,Loon,Suga J,and puffy's cousin Huddy Combs.
Mase's new album Doubled up comes out Feb 99,
and Cardan comes out in Spring 99.
